family cemetery selections

Hi folks,  I had hoped to take care of this months ago... I know the Durham and surrounding area folks decided to buy the marker. Our cousins down east asked to see the images we were working from.

This is the suggestion I gave to Durham Marble Works.

This is the image of the stone type he thought would show details best.
This is the type of stone he thought would work well on our site. It cannot be seen from the front that the stone is rather curved opposite the print side. Over all when I stood beside this example at his business it was about knee height.
slant marker 36"x 10" slopes to 2' at top. 18" tall
lettered as pictured
cost $826.68
He also recommended a granite slab foundation slab 42"x14"
pin the slant to the foundation which will make it less likely to be moved
cost with slant foundation slab  1027.70

The alternative offered was a 36"x18"x6" bevel marker- low to the ground
total cost 916.98

Obviously these are prices from a year and half ago and I'm sure there would be some cost adjustment.

If anyone has a question or an opinion I am happy to get some answers.
As I said I anticipated dealing with this last fall... and surprise it's spring. I now have a five day a week job in Raleigh... lots of life changes, mostly good.

So, let me hear from you and I'll get this project working towards a conclusion
Sara
